Requirements for them to work are; type in testingcheats true first, own a retail store and have at least 1 item ‘set for sale’. To see if they worked open up your Retail Perk rewards list and hover over the shopping basket. When the cheat worked it will say: Your Sim does not meet the proper age requirements or this item has already been claimed.

Be sure to include the true at the end of these cheats in order to unlock the associated perk. This makes perk point cheats unnecessary, though it does require a bit more typing.
