~ 29th August 2021 ~

  • Fixed interactions so they will show up on all computers. Additionally, the interactions will now take a minimum of 60 minutes to complete.
  • The career now requires the XML Injector to work. This means the career no longer has its own script file so please delete the old script and package files before updating to this one!
~ 21st August 2021 ~ Updated to add Russian translation.
~ 20th August 2021 ~ Updated the Work From Home pay to accurately reflect the earnings. Your sims will now earn more than §10 when they work from home!

"Are you a creative thinker? Do you like working with people? Ever considered a career in Advertising? This career encompasses your creative and charismatic skills and encourages you to work with your colleagues." ~ Join Text

I love having a variety of careers in my game and I felt like I needed some more creative careers. So I converted my Sims 3 Advertising Career to the Sims 4 and made some improvements.

What Makes It Different?
I like there to be a bit of challenge to the careers so there is a degree requirement for promotion later on in the career (More below).

You Will Need:
  • Scumbumbo’s XML Injector ~ This allows the career to not need its own script file. The XML Injector loads the script for Paid Time Off and for the custom interactions. Don’t worry; the XML Injector doesn’t add anything to your game, it just allows this mod to work as intended.

Technical Details
The career has 10 levels and no additional branching. There are 6 work from home assignments available should you wish to use them and there are no daily tasks or uniforms.

The career requires Discover University.

Custom Interactions
In order to provide a better experience when your Sims are working from home, I created a small set of 4 custom interactions on the computer, which are used as Work From Home tasks or promotion requirements. These can be found under the Career/Advertising menu on the computer. These are:
– Invent Slogans
– Design Advertising Copy
– Design Company Logo
– Design Marketing Strategy

Translations
The career is presently in:
~ English (by me)
~ Russian (by Origamika Group)

Degree Requirements
I’ve never been a fan of career jumps from degrees so I rarely use them in my game. I am, however, a fan of including degrees as promotion requirements so that’s what I’ve done here. If your sim wants to progress beyond Level 5 of the Advertising career, they’re going to need a Communications degree.

Known Issues

For reasons known only to Sims 4, in spite of completing all work from home tasks, sometimes the boss is disappointed with the work done. I don’t actually know why this happens but, as you can see with the notifications above, you get the money. Just the notification is a bit off. This is a known issue and as yet, there’s no known solution.
