Attention After I submitted this mod a few days ago I found a bug and fixed it but was not able to replace or cancel the upload. If you downloaded the mod just after it went public please download it again, I just updated the file. The bug was that the interaction did not work, if it took place outside of the target Sim’s home lot.

This mod adds some (player controlled) story progression to pets. Your Sim can suggest to others that they might adopt a dog or a pet and they can even "hook up" strays in the world with a new family.

Mod Functionality

This mod adds 4 new interactions that can be found with the friendly interactions:

  • Suggest Adopting a Dog
  • Suggest Adopting a Cat
  • Suggest Adopting a Stray Dog…
  • Suggest Adopting a Stray Cat…

If the interaction is successful a random pet (or the picked stray) will be added to the target household

Every Sim can suggest an adoption but only YA Sims and older can be the targets of the interaction. Your Sim has to be friends with the target Sim.

You can only suggest to adopt a specific stray cat or dog if your Sim has already met this stray and it is around at the moment. If there are none the interaction will not show.

The suggestion will not always be successful and the Sims will get moodlets depending on the result. Sims with the traits "Dog Lover" or "Cat Lover" will be affected more, both positively and negatively, but they will also be more successful.



If the target household is already full the suggestion will always fail.

The interactions won’t be used by Sims autonomously.

And the interactions are not visible for members of the current household, since it is not meant as a cheat

Packs required
You need to have Cats & Dogs.

Translations
I added a German translation. All other languages will use the English texts (so far). Since I added a bunch of strings I’m not really comfortable with using automatic translations, but if anyone would like to provide translations for their languages I’d be happy to add it (and give credit of course).



Installation
Unzip and drag both the package file and the script file into your Sims 4 Mods directory (not more than one folder deep).

Compatibility
This mod adds completely new interactions and does not override any game resources, so it’s quite unlikely to conflict with other mods.
