I added the Slice of Life overlays mostly out of curiosity, and it actually changed how my Sims look more than I expected. It’s not a big, flashy mod — but once it’s in your game, you start noticing the details.
The overlays give Sims more natural-looking skin, like subtle textures and small imperfections. Nothing too dramatic, just enough to make them feel less “plastic” and more real.
what I liked is that it doesn’t force a specific style. it works with different sims, different looks, even with other CC. I didn’t have to adjust much, it just blended in.
I’ve been using it mostly for:
adding a bit of depth to CAS
better screenshots
more realistic faces
